How effective are Petsafe (or other brand) WIRELESS dog fences? This would be in comparison to the traditional "invisible" wired fence.
I have friends who have had both. All but one got rid of them, and here is why.
The dogs would see a rabbit or some other animal in the yard, chase it, and run through the invisible fence (the dog didn't even notice the shock because they were in hunting mode by then), and then would not come back into the yard due to being shocked when it got near the fence. They would have to turn off the fence, bring the dog in, and then turn it on again.
I am anti Invisible fences, they shock the animal (which is crewel), and a stranger who may want to steal your pet can enter your yard, remove the collar, and walk off with it (happened in my neighborhood).
Best way to go, a traditional fence.
