Himalayan sheds insane amounts, groomers/vets have "never heard of deshedding"? Our 10 month old Himalayan sheds like a maniac. I take a deshedding tool to her monthly, but after about an hour hair is still coming out; in all it is a small garbage bag full. It makes such a huge mess to deshed her that I called around to groomers and vets to see if they offer the service, and they've never heard of it. I live in a decent size city too, Huntsville, AL. How often am I supposed to deshed my Himalayan and why does she shed such a crazy amount? And yes I comb her almost daily.
There isn't anything you can do about the shedding. All cats shed. Some don't shed much while others shed like crazy. I have 2 cats myself. One is very old and his fur isn't has full as it used to be so he doesn't shed to much. But then my younger cat sheds non stop. She is a tortoise shell cat with short fluffy type of fur. Just one pet and poof there's hair everywhere. Every Tesday and Friday I comb her with a small cat brush. She loves it to lol. But, other then combing a lot of the lose fur out about twice a week there isn't anything else you can do. And, no there isn't any service anywhere that desheds other then the normal combing after a bath or some thing like that. By combing her twice a week your already desheding her has much has your going to be able to. Sadly, now is about the time of year that cats start to shed off their "winter coats" making them shed even more then they normally would.
