What do you think of a costume wedding on Halloween??? My fiance and I have been planning on getting married on 8-8-08 at 8pm... but we have also talked about moving it up to the end of this year... the other night we were talking about it and he suggested getting married this halloween... he wants to do a costume wedding and we would dress as Shrek and Fiona (our favorite movie... as well as our pet names for each other) and have our attendants dress as chracters from the Shrek movies as well???? At first I fell in love with the idea... but I'm afraid people will think were stupid... becuz it is our WEDDING... and of course its suppose to be a memorable day and it would be... it would be something nobody would ever forget.... so why do i feel like its a dumb idea when I want to do it???? If you could help me and give me some advice as well as your oppinion on the whole thing it would be greatly appreciated.... thnx
Quite frankly the bridal industry has made a mockery of what a wedding is anyway. All it is IS just a big bloody party now filled with created stress.
As far as being a bad idea, no. Plenty of other people have had every theme under the sun from Star Trek to Cinderella. It doesn't matter how you do it, just as long as the day has meaning to you and your ready to accept a mature relationship. To others this might mean that you have a more solemn ceremony, which is all well and good if you wish to celebrate and has the same meaning, but I digress, it's whether your mentally ready for the changes and prepare for them.
A 'wedding' is just the extra cream. Enjoy yourselves and prepare well.
